FAMFT State Conference May 2007 Lake Mary, FL
Florida Association of Marriage and Family Therapist Poster Presentation. The poster presented was using Solution Focused Therapy to work with infertility patients in a clinical setting. This brief therapy model was used to show how integrating therapy into medical clinic can work and it doesn’t have to be an hour long session to prove beneficial. Shadowing the doctor, I have been able to see all of his patients in a day and leave them with some feeling of therapeutic support in a short amount of time. Utilizing Solution Focused Therapy is helpful because it draws out exceptions and shows strengths while leaving the patient with some hope that their lives are not all bad, just this part for this time. |
